Meet Me Where?

I'm in St Louis (the most dangerous city in America) for the ACLU staff conference. My hotel room looks right over the Gateway Arch and the Mississippi. You can tell why they built the Arch: There sure as hell isn't anything else to see in this city.

This blog has been getting kind of boring lately. Readership is down and no one's posted a comment since January. I'm just not finding much to write about here anymore. As I move further into my career as a lawyer, my life is increasingly defined by my work. But I can't blog about my work. Outside of work, of course, there is mucho surfing but I've already written plenty about surfing . And, when I feel like writing, I tend to work on my draft novel (which progresses very slowly).

Despite all this, I don't plan to give up blogging. I'll have stuff to write occasionally and it's an easy way to stay in touch with people. And on that note, I have news: I am staying in Northern California. I don't know exactly where I'll end up but I am now sure that my next job will be with a law firm in San Francisco. I'm excited to be staying in the area and glad not to have another stressful long distance move.

Hey, I still enjoy reading your blog -- me being a long lost friend from Perth, now residing in Sydney and (would you believe) learning to surf (slowly!). Make sure you do keep it up -- this is one of the few blogs I enjoy visiting.

My novel is also progessing rather slowly. I blame work, which leaves me with frozen shoulder and a numbed brain.
